Hello to you! I trust you are keeping busy and well and drinking a healthy amount of fantastic wine!
It has been a busy couple of weeks for me with a great trip up to Penticton to sit on the B.C. VQA panel and getting ready for the BC Hospitality Foundation’s Dish ‘n Dazzle fundraiser tomorrow evening…whew!
Today, I have for you not only a fun, great tasting Pinot Grigio but a wine bottle that is pretty fun to look at too!
KRIS Pinot Grigio is made in the Alto Adige region of northern Italy and is definitely a wine to try this summer. This wine hits all the right notes on the palate with flavours of almond, lime, tangerine, acacia flower and honey. KRIS’s Pinot Grigio is crisp and refreshing with just the right amount of acidity – yum.
The label? Well, that is a cool story. The winemaker’s wife commissioned contemporary Italian artist, Riccardo Schweizer, to design the label as an anniversary present to her husband – love it! Everything on the label is a symbol – the golden orb is the Italian sunshine, the hand references the human hand in crafting and creating the wine and lips that delight in the taste of the wine.
And, it is delightful. Not super-structured or complex – but who needs structured and complex wine all the time? No, KRIS’s Pinot Grigio is a wine to enjoy while being thankful for the simple pleasures in life.
It is currently on sale until June 3rd at the BC Liquor Stores for $15.99, usually $17.99.
Enjoy!
XO
