I am calling all Pinot Grigio fans! Book your calendar for Tuesday, February 27th and attend the Discover Delle Venezie DOC Pinot Grigio Wine Minger happening at Earl’s Loft in Yaletown. Italy, in all of its delicious wine glory, is the spotlight country at this year’s Vancouver International Wine Festival. And guess what? I will be your host for the evening!

Pinot Grigio is an incredibly popular crisp, refreshing white wine. Produced primarily in the northeast region of Italy, it is known for its light body and bright acidity. Pinot Grigio and Pinot Gris are the same grape variety but can be worlds apart stylistically. The Italian version of this wine is typically lighter and more refreshing than its fuller-bodied French counterpart.

One of the reasons that Pinot Grigio has become so popular is its versatility. This wine pairs well with many foods, from light salads, sushi, and seafood to heavier pasta dishes and roasted meats. It is also a great wine to enjoy as an aperitivo (a pre-meal drink), as it is light and inviting.

If you want to try some delicious Pinot Grigio wines from Italy, we will have 12 wines to sip and savour at the Discover Delle Venezie DOC event. You will also have the opportunity to meet the Italian producers in town to pour their wines for you.

I look forward to seeing you there and celebrating Italian wine at this year’s 45th annual Vancouver International Wine Festival.
