I am always pleased to receive sample bottles of wine from the outstanding wineries in British Columbia (and beyond) to review and introduce you to.

Blue Mountain Vineyard and Cellars, located in Okanagan Falls, B.C., was founded in 1971 by Jane and Ian Mavety. Today, their son Matt is the winemaker and viticulturalist, and their daughter Christie looks after marketing and is the ‘face’ of Blue Mountain. As of 1991, they started their own label, having been wine growers for other wineries. Today, the focus and attention are on Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Gamay Noir and Traditionelle Methode sparkling wine.

Blue Mountain – Chardonnay Review:

Blossom Slope Single Vineyard Block 17 Chardonnay 2019 – Hints of jasmine and fresh apricot on the nose. The palate is alive and electric with stone fruits, citrus and a dash of vanilla on the finish. Excellent 92 Points. $49.90

Alluvium Reflections Single Vineyard Block 32 Chardonnay 2019 – Aromas of mango, guava and tropical fruits tantalize the nose. This wine is rich and textured with more of a stone fruit profile on the palate, hints of garrigue, finishing with a top note of hazelnut and vanilla. Very seductive. Excellent 93 Points. $49.90

Estate Cuvée Chardonnay 2020 – Light and crisp on the palate, this is an approachable and tasty wine. Mineral-driven and well-crafted, here is a wine to bring to a Chardonnay lover’s home. Very Good 89 Points. $29.90
