Hello and happy Friday.
Last week, I was invited, as media, to attend the International Cool Climate Wine Symposium in St. Catherines, Ontario.
Held at Brock University and organized by the Cool Climate Oenology & Viticulture Institute, the conference gathered scientists, winemakers, wine growers, wine business professionals, and writers into an all-encompassing five-day program.

Climate change and its unavoidable presence in our daily lives commanded the attention and focal point of many of the sessions and seminars.
I wrote an overview piece for Vitis online, and it is out today.
I invite you to read my latest post. Please feel free to comment if you have any thoughts on climate change or any questions I may have about some takeaways from the symposium.
Respectfully,
CC
Absolutely fascinating and informative article on climate change and it’s unavoidable effect on vineyards and the world of wine. A lot of good things to contemplate!
Really informative conference, and a great synopsis of the content. From a winebiz perspective, there was a lot on the use and value of technology, which really got my attention. Can’t wait to get to New Zealand in 2026 to find out what’s happened in the interim.
