Happy New Year to you – I hope you had a wonderful time ringing in 2018!
This year holds a number of firsts for me and I am thrilled to share my journey with you. I have been selected by the International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC) to be a judge for the Canadian wine category. I put my name forward for Canada, France, and Champagne. I had no idea if I was going to get anything as the returning judges have first right of refusal, understandably. Happily, I was selected to judge wines of Canada and I am thrilled, absolutely thrilled.
I fly to London on March 10th and I will stay for a week. There are only 3 days of judging but I will take the opportunity to visit one of my dearest friends (Kerry Hogan) and her gorgeous family whom I have not seen for far too long.
This will be the first time I have formally ‘judged’ wine. As a B.C. VQA assessor, I judge wine, yes, but I am looking for faults and imperfections and am not giving scores out of 100. I am very grateful to Katherine McEachnie, a current IWSC Champagne judge, for putting my name forward to be considered – thank you for believing in me and my abilities.
This is just the first of many adventures planned for this year and I will continue to share our progress on our move to France this June…
Much love.
XO

I’ve got a bottle of Laurent Perrier for you to judge. Not sure on year or details but I’ll make sure it’s cold. Looking forward to hearing about the competition. Would be great to see Canadian wines in Europe.
So looking forward to seeing you four! Xox
Bravo Bella, very happy for you ❤️🥂❤️
