Happy Springtime to you! I hope this bright season is off to a great start.
I am very happy to announce that I have accepted a contract role with the BC Hospitality Foundation. As the Auction Manager, I will be soliciting and coordinating silent auction items for two of their large fundraising events – Dish ‘n Dazzle, this year featuring Wines of Australia, and their Vancouver-based golf tournament.
Around this time last year, I bought my ticket to the Dish ‘n Dazzle event and was impressed at the professionalism of the evening and how much damn fun I had -it was both entertaining, delicious and a quality event. Wines from Chile were featured alongside small plates supplied by Vancouver’s top restaurants.

I reached out and had coffee with the amiable Alan Sacks who is the Executive Director and learned more about the incredible amount of assistance the BCHF provides to an array of people. Scholarships are provided for the following groups: culinary, industry, hospitality and sommelier. Last year alone, in 2015, the BCHF helped 31 people throughout B.C. with $114,500 in funds as well as granted 20 scholarships with a total of $28,500. Amazing.
I am honoured to be a party of this respect-worthy foundation. Please read more about the BCHF here.
