Hello wine lovers and happy wine Wednesday! I hope you have been keeping well and enjoying some great wine! My husband David and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary on Monday and had a wonderful ‘date day’ together. After coffee at JJ Bean on Main Street, we headed to Granville Island where we spent the rest of day looking at boats. It was one of those simple, easy-going days that I just love.
I have only a short post for you today as I am getting ready to hit the road tomorrow for Portland with my amazing sister on a ‘sister weekend’ trip to her favourite city. Two years ago, we did Chicago in “Campbell” style and I can only imagine what Portland has to offer!
This past February, I had the pleasure of attending Michel Chapoutier’s presentation at the Vancouver International Wine Festival and the Alcohol Professor just published my article on this dynamic and passionate winemaker. Please click here to learn about Michel Chapoutier’s vision and dedication to his craft. Chapoutier is a huge believer in pairing food and wine and his philosophy is fascinating.
Also this week, I was featured on the French Wine Society’s Facebook page with a small write-up. I am a huge fan of this course and, as you know, am figuring out what region to do my Master level program in. I think I am going to give myself the summer off school and enjoy my little family. I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Maya Angelou today. She has been a source of inspiration for me and I know I am not alone when I say she had the ability to help you see something a different way. With that, I will end my post this week with Maya Angelou’s beautiful words, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
