Thanks to a lovely invitation from Andrew Peller LTD, I recently had the pleasure of visiting Red Rooster Winery in Penticton, B.C. Let me tell you, this Naramata Bench gem is punching well above its weight. The wines are as vibrant as the views, and the value is exceptional.

The standout for me was their 2022 Pinot 3, priced at $21.00—a playful yet tasty blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Gris. It’s bright, fresh, and perfect for summer sipping on the deck or pairing with a charcuterie board under the stars. Another 2022 standout is their $25.00 Pinot Noir. It impressed with its silky texture and those telltale red berry and spice notes that make you want to pour just one more glass. Great tasting wines at affordable prices, indeed.

And here’s a little extra musical interlude for your calendar—Red Rooster is the official wine sponsor of the 27th annual Pentastic Hot Jazz & Music Festival. The kickoff party is scheduled for Thursday, September 4th, and the festival will take place from September 5th to 7th in Penticton. Good wine and great jazz? Now that’s a pairing I can get behind.

Cheers to Red Rooster for making BC wine so easy to afford and enjoy—and thanks again to Andrew Peller for the visit.

Stay tuned for a few other highlights from my time in the Okanagan last week.
